Volunteers

We always welcome volunteers to join us and share our passion of providing stable homes for people in need – whether to help us with administrative work, fund raising, organising events, serving as a board member of a new land trust or become an Ambassador for the Caledonian Foundation to tell people about our MEHO projects.

Ambassadors

If we’re to make a difference when it comes to housing inequality and homelessness in Scotland, we know that we can’t operate in isolation. We also understand that, for housing projects to be a success, they have to happen on local terms.

The Caledonian Foundation’s starting point will be to build relationships with communities to help them utilise the potential of Micro Equity Home Ownership.

As an ambassador for the Caledonian Foundation you would be at the forefront of a grassroots campaign to make homes affordable and home ownership attainable for all. There are several different ways to become an ambassador for the Foundation:

Invite us to share the MEHO model with your community group so that we can help them set up a community land trust.

Modify and adapt the model for use in different contexts and communities, both locally and overseas.

Help us connect with those in need. If you provide debt advice or counselling to the homeless or those in financial distress we want to hear from you.

Will assist Ambassadors to make the transition to becoming project leaders on specific MEHO projects – and we’ve budgeted for these posts within the financial model.

If you want to know more about becoming a MEHO Ambassador we want to hear from you.

Volunteering

There are many ways in which you can help to get a MEHO project off the ground and we want to hear from anyone who wants to contribute towards this goal.

Volunteering is a fun and rewarding process especially when it is geared towards a specific aim and involves working with people. The Caledonian Foundation will provide these opportunities, offering volunteers the chance to get involved on the ground.

We also want to hear from people who think that they can help to spread the word about MEHO, by offering administrative support, getting involved in fundraising or helping to organise events.

Every minute and effort volunteered is significant and able to change lives. We’d like to hear from potential volunteers who would like to work in the following roles:
